1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the MealSpot mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

MealSpot is a mobile application that helps you find the perfect restaurant through group selecting and matching. The App offers both free and premium subscription tiers with varying features.

2.1 Free Tier

Restaurant selecting and matching
Group pairing with friends
Up to 5 matches per group
Banner and video ads (every 20 selections)

2.2 Premium Subscription Tiers

Bronze Tier ($0.99/month): Removes banner ads (video ads remain)
Silver Tier ($1.99/month): Completely ad-free experience
Gold Tier ($20/year): Ad-free + annual discount + early access to features

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice

4.2 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or app store
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
Refunds are handled according to Google Play Store or Apple App Store policies
No refunds for partial subscription periods

4.3 Free Trials

We may offer free trial periods for premium subscriptions. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.

5.2 Content Guidelines

You agree not to post content that:

Infringes on intellectual property rights
Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
Promotes illegal activities
Contains viruses or malicious code
Violates any applicable laws or regulations

5.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without prior notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, text, graphics, and code, is owned by MealSpot and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Interfere with the App's functionality or other users' experience
Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
Impersonate others or provide false information
Reverse engineer or decompile the App

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services (Firebase, AdMob, payment processors). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Accuracy or reliability of content
Fitness for a particular purpose
That defects will be corrected

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEALSPOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
Damages resulting from use or inability to use the App
Third-party content or services

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MealSpot harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights.

12. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access immediately for violations of these Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
